1Letas manyservantsasareunderthe yokecounttheir ownmastersworthyof allhonour, thatthe nameof Godand his doctrinebenotblasphemed. 2Andthey that havebelievingmasters, let themnotdespise them, becausethey arebrethren; butratherdo them service, becausethey arefaithfulandbeloved, partakersof the benefit. These thingsteachandexhort.
3Ifany manteach otherwise, andconsentnotto wholesomewords, even the words of ourLordJesusChrist, andto the doctrinewhich is according togodliness; 4He is proud, knowingnothing, butdotingaboutquestionsandstrifes of words, whereofcomethenvy, strife, railings, evilsurmisings, 5Perverse disputingsof menof corruptminds, anddestituteof the truth, supposing thatgainisgodliness: fromsuchwithdraw thyself.
6Butgodlinesswithcontentmentisgreatgain. 7Forwe broughtnothinginto this world, and it is certainwe cancarrynothingout. 8Andhavingfoodandraimentlet us betherewithcontent. 9Butthey that willbe richfallintotemptationanda snare, and into manyfoolishandhurtfullusts, whichdrownmenindestructionandperdition. 10Forthe love of moneyisthe rootof allevil: whichwhilesomecoveted after, they have erredfromthe faith, andpiercedthemselvesthroughwith manysorrows.
13I givetheechargein the sight ofGod, who quickenethall things, and before ChristJesus, whobeforePontiusPilatewitnesseda goodconfession; 14Thatthoukeep this commandmentwithout spot, unrebukeable, untilthe appearingof ourLordJesusChrist: 15Whichin histimeshe shall shew, who is the blessedandonlyPotentate, the Kingof kings, andLordof lords; 16Whoonlyhathimmortality, dwelling inthe lightwhich no man can approach unto; whomnomanhath seen, norcansee: to whom be honourandpowereverlasting. Amen.
17Chargethem that are richinthisworld, that they benothighminded, nortrustinuncertainriches, butinthe livingGod, who givethusrichlyall thingsto enjoy;
18That they do good, that they be richingoodworks, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19Laying up in storefor themselvesa goodfoundationagainstthe time to come, thatthey may lay hold oneternallife.
20OTimothy, keepthat which is committed to thy trust, avoidingprofane and vain babblings, andoppositionsof sciencefalsely so called: 21Whichsomeprofessinghave erredconcerning the faith. Grace be withthee. Amen.
