1Whatshall we saythen? Shall we continuein sin, thatgracemay abound? 2God forbid. Howshall we, thatare deadto sin, liveany longertherein? 3Know ye not, thatso many of us aswere baptizedintoJesusChristwere baptizedintohisdeath? 4Thereforewe are buried withhimbybaptismintodeath: thatlike asChristwas raised upfromthe deadbythe gloryof the Father, even sowealsoshould walkinnewnessof life.
5Forifwe have beenplanted togetherin the likenessof hisdeath, we shall bealso in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowingthis, thatouroldmanis crucified with him, thatthe bodyof sinmight be destroyed, thathenceforthweshouldnotservesin. 7Forhe that is deadis freedfromsin. 8Nowifwe be deadwithChrist, we believethatwe shallalsolive withhim: 9KnowingthatChristbeing raisedfromthe deaddiethno more; deathhathno moredominionover him. 10Forin thathe died, he diedunto sinonce: butin thathe liveth, he livethunto God. 11Likewisereckonyealsoyourselvesto bedeadindeedunto sin, butaliveunto GodthroughJesusChristourLord.
12Letnotsinthereforereigninyourmortalbody, that ye shouldobeyitinthe luststhereof. 13Neitheryield yeyourmembers as instrumentsof unrighteousnessunto sin: butyieldyourselvesunto God, asthose that are alivefromthe dead, andyourmembers as instrumentsof righteousnessunto God. 14Forsinshallnothave dominion overyou: forye arenotunderthe law, butundergrace.
15Whatthen? shall we sin, becausewe arenotunderthe law, butundergrace? God forbid. 16Know yenot, thatto whomye yieldyourselvesservantstoobey, his servantsye areto whomye obey; whetherof sinuntodeath, orof obedienceuntorighteousness?
17ButGodbe thanked, thatye werethe servantsof sin, butye have obeyedfromthe heartthat formof doctrinewhichwas delivered you. 18Beingthenmade freefromsin, ye became the servantsof righteousness. 19I speakafter the manner of menbecause ofthe infirmityof yourflesh: forasye have yieldedyourmembersservantsto uncleannessandto iniquityuntoiniquity; even sonowyieldyourmembersservantsto righteousnessuntoholiness.
20Forwhenye werethe servantsof sin, ye werefreefrom righteousness. 21Whatfruithad yetheninthose things whereofye arenowashamed? forthe endof those things is death. 22Butnowbeing made freefromsin, andbecome servantsto God, ye haveyourfruituntoholiness, andthe endeverlastinglife. 23Forthe wagesof sin is death; butthe giftof God is eternallifethroughJesusChristourLord.
