1At that timeMerodach-baladan, the sonof Baladan, kingof Babylon, sentlettersand a presentto Hezekiah: for he had heardthat he had been sick, and was recovered. 2And Hezekiahwas gladof them, and shewedthem the houseof his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the preciousointment, and all the houseof his armour, and all that was foundin his treasures: there was nothingin his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiahshewed them not.
3Then cameIsaiahthe prophetunto kingHezekiah, and saidunto him, What saidthese men? and from whencecamethey unto thee? And Hezekiahsaid, They are comefrom a farcountry unto me, even from Babylon.
4Then saidhe, What have they seenin thine house? And Hezekiahanswered, All that is in mine househave they seen: there is nothingamong my treasuresthat I have not shewed them.
