1I am sought of them that askednot for me; I am found of them that soughtme not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not calledby my name. 2I have spread outmy handsall the dayunto a rebelliouspeople, which walkethin a way that was not good, aftertheir own thoughts; 3A peoplethat provoketh me to angercontinuallyto my face; that sacrificethin gardens, and burneth incenseupon altars of brick; 4Which remainamong the graves, and lodgein the monuments, which eatswine’sflesh, and brothof abominable things is in their vessels; 5Which say, Standby thyself, come not nearto me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smokein my nose, a firethat burnethall the day.
6 Behold, it is writtenbeforeme: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompenseinto their bosom, 7Your iniquities, and the iniquitiesof your fatherstogether, saiththe LORD, which have burned incenseupon the mountains, and blasphemedme upon the hills: therefore will I measuretheir formerworkinto their bosom.
8Thus saiththe LORD, As the new wineis foundin the cluster, and one saith, Destroyit not; for a blessing is in it: so will I dofor my servants’sakes, that I may not destroy them all. 9And I will bring fortha seedout of Jacob, and out of Judahan inheritorof my mountains: and mine electshall inheritit, and my servantsshall dwell there. 10And Sharonshall be a foldof flocks, and the valleyof Achora place for the herdsto lie down in, for my peoplethat have sought me.
11 But ye are they that forsakethe LORD, that forgetmy holymountain, that preparea tablefor that troop, and that furnishthe drink offeringunto that number. 12Therefore will I numberyou to the sword, and ye shall all bow downto the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but didevilbefore mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
13Therefore thus saiththe LordGOD, Behold, my servantsshall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servantsshall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servantsshall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: 14Behold, my servantsshall singfor joyof heart, but ye shall cryfor sorrowof heart, and shall howlfor vexationof spirit. 15And ye shall leaveyour namefor a curseunto my chosen: for the LordGODshall slaythee, and callhis servantsby anothername: 16That he who blessethhimself in the earthshall blesshimself in the Godof truth; and he that swearethin the earthshall swearby the Godof truth; because the formertroublesare forgotten, and because they are hidfrom mine eyes.
17For, behold, I createnewheavensand a newearth: and the formershall not be remembered, nor comeinto mind. 18But be ye gladand rejoicefor ever in that which I create: for, behold, I createJerusalema rejoicing, and her peoplea joy. 19And I will rejoicein Jerusalem, and joyin my people: and the voiceof weepingshall be no more heardin her, nor the voiceof crying. 20There shall be no more thence an infantof days, nor an old manthat hath not filledhis days: for the childshall diean hundredyearsold; but the sinner being an hundredyearsoldshall be accursed. 21And they shall buildhouses, and inhabit them; and they shall plantvineyards, and eatthe fruit of them. 22They shall not build, and anotherinhabit; they shall not plant, and anothereat: for as the daysof a tree are the daysof my people, and mine electshall long enjoythe workof their hands. 23They shall not labourin vain, nor bring forthfor trouble; for they are the seedof the blessedof the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25The wolfand the lambshall feedtogether, and the lionshall eatstrawlike the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’smeat. They shall not hurtnor destroyin all my holymountain, saiththe LORD.
